About us

Transcom Hungary was established in Budapest in 2005 originally to support major telecommunication clients in Central and Eastern Europe. With a total seat capacity of over 450 production seats, Transcom offers today a full range of services to an international client base.

In fact, it soon became clear that the geographical position of Budapest, in the heart of Central Europe, represented an incredible opportunity in terms of the language skills available. Exploiting this competitive advantage, Transcom Budapest has specialized in the provision of multilingual services for many international clients operating in several industries.

In 2005, the best known and most important e-commerce platform in the world was the first international client to launch a pilot project at our multilingual site. The following year, in 2007, Transcom Budapest managed two important startups: we set up services for one of the most important multinationals in the large household appliance sector in German, Dutch, Hungarian, Slovak and Czech; and we started to support the UK Border and Immigration agency program covering 42 countries in EMEA region in cooperation with a global leader in information technology.

In 2009, a leading American international transport and shipment company joined the group of major brands served by Transcom Budapest. For this client, we provide technical support for internal and external customers in 14 languages.

Since 2011, we have also been managing the services for one of the main European operators in the online travel sector. Starting out with six Russian language agents, the company now has more than 100 agents handling services in 6 different languages. Back in October 2015 Transcom has extended and signed an agreement as a strategic partner to this leading online travel agency, providing efficient booking services and managing multichannel customer service activities in several languages. This client, which operates exclusively online, offers original leisure solutions and ideas to millions of users worldwide and currently has a significant presence in Europe while it is also expanding in North Africa. The client assistance activities entrusted to the multilingual Transcom team cover the entire range of services and aim to ensure that users receive the best possible travel and leisure experience.

In 2013, Transcom signed a subcontract agreement with one of the largest Canadian IT outsourcing company in order to assists travelers applying for a visa to enter the United States. We are currently providing this service in 12 different languages (English, German, French, Hungarian, Czech, Slovakian, Norwegian, Swedish, Finish, Latvian, Estonian and Danish) through telephone, email and chat communication channels. Transcom is acting as the communication channel between applicants and local government offices (POST).

In 2015, Transcom signed a partnership agreement with the largest major appliance manufacturer in the world, to implement a call center integration program across Europe and provide excellent, seamless and consistent customer service for the following markets in Budapest: Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Greece, Hungary, the Netherlands, Romania and Slovakia. Transcom provides customer care, sales and technical assistance for this Group’s full range of marketed brands, with inbound, outbound and back-office services delivered through multiple contact channels.

From the middle of 2016 a new Switzerland based client has opened back office service related to online hotel reservations. We provide a Business to Consumer service for the US market covering a front line service 24/7 and back office service to effectuate clients’ requests.

In addition to the Operations area, Budapest is also one of Transcom’s global IT Support centers. A total of 25 IT professionals provide assistance 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to all Transcom centers worldwide.

Today the Budapest center is staffed by almost 310 people who come from 34 different countries and provide customer support in 23 different languages: English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch, Danish, Norwegian, Swedish, Finnish, Romanian, Czech, Slovak, Estonian, Latvian, Bulgarian, Polish, Hungarian, Turkish, Croatian.

In July 2014, Transcom opened another operating site in Szeged, next to the border with Serbia and Romania, in order to provide customer service support for one of the world’s major providers of mobile communications. After 18 months of operations, in January 2016, this site has been taken over by the same telecommunications company as part of a partnership agreement.
