We’ve always placed a strong emphasis on sustainable practices in and out of the office. For Earth week, we have decided to shine a spotlight on some of the winners of our GoGreen initiative. You’ll have a chance to read and watch interviews with some of the participants in order to see the Transcom sustainable spirit for yourself. Today we’re talking with Aleksandar Savić, our Senior Talent Acquisition Partner from Latvia
Driven by a genuine commitment to sustainability, I've been actively embracing greener practices both personally and within our Transcom Latvia team. This involves consciously modifying daily routines to minimize our environmental footprint.
Initiatives implemented include prioritizing biking as a mode of transport to work and eliminating single-use plastic cups from our office spaces. Also, we've transitioned to using eco-friendly dishwashing liquid and established easily accessible waste separation containers throughout our premises. To further promote awareness, we've strategically placed informative stickers in common areas.
Beyond these in-office efforts, we've also enthusiastically integrated environmental action into our schedules, even dedicating personal time to activities like collecting and recycling a significant quantity of bottles. It's truly rewarding to see our collective efforts contributing to Transcom's Go Green initiative.
My primary goal with this initiative wasn't solely focused on achieving easily measurable outcomes. Instead, it was driven by a genuine desire to foster a mindset of continuous improvement and to simply get things moving in a positive direction. It’s my sincere hope that even if only a small number of individuals took notice, my efforts might spark a similar drive within them.
I’ve personally witnessed this ripple effect within my own family, which reinforces my belief in its potential. Ultimately, I believe we successfully conveyed the significance of this topic and demonstrated our commitment to tangible action, moving beyond mere discussion. It is my deepest wish that this has inspired others to embrace this approach and initiate their own positive changes.
Our company's ambitious commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050 truly resonates with me. It's inspiring to see such a significant long-term vision for a more sustainable future embraced at the highest level. In my daily work, I find myself constantly considering how our local efforts contribute to this overarching objective.
I firmly believe that the Go Green initiative, with its focus on practical and impactful changes within each Transcom office, plays a vital role in this journey. Every conscious decision we make, every resource we conserve, and every sustainable practice we adopt, no matter how small it may seem individually, collectively propels us closer to realizing that crucial net-zero target. It's a privilege to be part of a company where these values are not just stated but actively pursued through initiatives like Go Green.
The Go Green initiative has been a personally enriching experience. I've come to realize that adopting environmentally conscious practices isn't a burden, but rather something that can be genuinely enjoyable and straightforward to integrate into daily life. It has broadened my perspective, sparking numerous ideas about how I can contribute to a more sustainable way of living, both at work and at home.
The initiative has encouraged me to focus on making small, consistent efforts for the benefit of our environment, with the aim of turning these actions into lasting habits. It's inspiring to see how even seemingly insignificant changes can collectively make a positive impact.
As an employee at Transcom, I genuinely hope to see our company increasingly prioritize environmental responsibility. I envision a future where we significantly reduce our plastic consumption across all our operations. Also, I believe it would be incredibly beneficial to introduce engaging educational initiatives focused on waste sorting. Imagine fun and informative ways to teach us all about what everyday items truly belong in recycling bins versus general waste.
By actively involving us, the employees, in these simple yet impactful activities, I am confident we can collectively contribute to a more sustainable future for Transcom and the wider community. It's about making a real difference together
